He is also an affiliated faculty at the Center for the Study of Social Difference at Columbia University. His most recent spin-out company, Nemisindo, is based out of the Queen Mary Enterprise Zone. David Serlin is Associate Professor of Communication and Science Studies, and affiliated faculty in Critical Gender Studies, Urban Studies, and the Interdisciplinary Group in Cognitive Science, at UC San Diego. The first of these, LandR, is an award-winning automated music mastering service with over 3 million subscribers and a current value of $40m. While at Queen Mary, where he is currently Professor in Audio Engineering in the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, Professor Reiss has founded three spin-out companies.
